The Diabetes UK Medway group is one of over 350 voluntary groups situated throughout the UK.
Our goal is to provide support and educate people living with diabetes, as well as their family, friends and anyone else who is interested in knowing more about diabetes.
We do this by inviting a range of specialist speakers to our quarterly public meetings to not only inform members about current research and treatments but also to introduce them to general health, exercise and dietary advice.
Our meetings provide an opportunity to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and to share problems and experiences. Although we are not experts the pooled knowledge of the group helps to answer many concerns or to point people in the right direction.
We provide a friendly atmosphere in which we can help people with diabetes and their families to better understand the condition, how it affects them and to raise awareness of the range of help available.
